INTRODUCTION TO THE BOARD
CHEERS Board of Trustees are men and women of impeccable character and distinguished personalities who were selected to serve on the board based on their outstanding accomplishments as well as achievements in their respective fields of endeavour.
The Board of Trustees is composed of professionals and technocrats that relates to the activities of CHEERS and balance with both men and women comprising of a Lawyer, A Medical Doctor, An Educationist, A Philanthropist, A Community Leader and a Public Health Practitioner.

Born 4th October 1949, he obtained his first degree in English from the University of Ibadan (1968-1974) and preceded for his doctorate from the University of Kent-at-Canterbury, UK. Among other qualification are Dip. In communication studies (Boston UN USA 1980), Cert. in Television Production (Television Training Centre, UK 1980) to mention but few.
He has serve as a senior lecturer at the Polytechnic, Ibadan, and principal Lecturer Ogun sate. He was one time Director of Publicity, Governor’s Office, Ogun state (1983). He then resigned as a lecturer to fully participate in politics of which he served as Ogun State Chairman, People solidarity Party and Social Democratic Party 1989-1994. He serve during the Obasanjo Administration as a special assistance/ advisor to the presidency and also served as senior special advisor to the president under President Yarádua tenure up until 2008. He is still an active politician as he is still a member of Ogun State Consultative Forum APC.
Dr. Osinowo has also left his landmark in the business world as a vibrant business tycoon, he has served as Director, Great Nigeria Insurance Co. Ltd., GRENIC (NIG) Ltd, Director NIG. Sugar CO. Ltd, Bacda and currently serves as the Chairman OSCORPS LTD and the Publisher of Spark Magazine.
Aside from serving as the Chairman, Board of trustees for CHEERS NGO, he also serves as the current Chairman, Board of trustees for Religious Leadership Forum. As a senior citizen and elderly state man, he has played major roles in building not only the nation but also any other organisations of which he has headed. He has received various national honours of which are Best public servant Award by the institution of public Administration (2004), Merit Award by Ijebu-Igbo Club, Hon. Fellow Chartered Institution of commerce of Nigeria (FCICN), 2011 by Chartered Institution of Commerce and has over 20 Chieftaincy title confer on him from various communities across Nigeria.
He had his early education in the ancient coal city of Enugu. He attended Enugu State University of Technology where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science.
Immediately after his National Youth Service (NYSC), he ventured into privat business and contracting. He is the Group Chairman of Cosco Oil, Cosco Investment Nigeria Limited, Cosco Foundation and TCG Nigeria Limited. He has successfully handled many building projects for Federal and State Governments across the length and breadth of Nigeria.
Hon. Cosmas Agagbo is a community leader and mobiliser. He was the Chairman of Njikoka Local Government Council, Anambra State from 2003 – 2006. In recognition of his leadership qualities and selfless service to his people, he was honoured with a Chieftaincy title, Okpoka (Strong Man) of Abba. He has also held many political appointments and posts including being the Anambra State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 2010.
On CHEERS Board, he contributes meaningfully especially on effective strategies for community participation and ownership for CHEERS programs.
He is currently a retired professional athlete who plied his trade across Europe.
He was a onetime Nigerian footballer who starred for the Super Eagles of Nigeria and paired up in the water light defence with the likes of Taribo West in the Nation’s run for the 2002 Korea/Japan World cup qualifiers and also Tebe Berlin FIC Benin 1999– 2002. He has had series of international football carrier with Rizespor Kulubu 2002 – 2004, Terisina FIC Italy, 2004 – 2005, Terisina FIC Italy 2004 – 2005 and Al Aluy FIC Tripoli 2005 – 2009 to mention but a few.
He has been a board member right from the inception of the organization, using his philanthropic skills in to support CHEERS. He is a likable, lovable character man with a very generous heart. He is a Soccer Ambassador, Highly motivated, business/sales trainer and manager with a solid track record of performance in consumer goods and retail businesses. Key strengths include the ability to meet and exceed goals/targets, a knack for connecting with decision makers and the ability to transfer the secrets of sales and account management to others. Excellent presentation, negotiation, closing, and follow through skills.
Theresa Okoli was born in Nsukka in Enugu State on December 23rd, 1957, by a famous contractor Mr Alfred Udenze and his wife Sussana. She attended her primary education at Enugu then called Ogbette primary school. She had her Secondary education at Holy Rosary Secondary School, Nsukka, from where she proceeded to Lagos State College of Education where she read Biology /Chemistry Education on NCE Level before proceeding to the University of Nigeria Nsukka where she studied Chemistry Education after which she proceeded to Abia State University, Uturu Okigwe where she obtained her Master’s in Education Management and Planning.
She is dedicated, resourceful and goal-driven professional educator with a solid commitment to the social and academic growth and development of every child. She has brought these outstanding attributes to CHEERS Board in facilitating the organizations programs especially educational and empowerment programs.
She taught at Government Secondary School, Area 10 Garki, Abuja as Chemistry teacher, Head of Department (HOD) and Senior Mistress (Academics). She also served as the Vice Principal Academics at the Government Secondary School Karu, Abuja. Later, she was posted to the Department of Policy Implementation, Education Secretariat (FCDA) as an Inspector of Education (Team Leader) from where she rose to the position of an Assistant Director in the secretariat.
She is a member of Accreditation Committee of FCT School, Abuja
Ajia Ogugua worked briefly at the Nigerian Telecommunications Limited (M-TEL) before going into private business. She has carried out business assignments for public and private sector organizations. Ajia was appointed a member of the Board of Nigerian Mobile Telecommunications Limited (M-TEL) and the Board also appointed her as the Chairman of the Technical Committee in 2003.
Ajia as she is fondly called has a passion for social work and advocacy. This led her to found Centre for Health, Education, Economic Rehabilitation and Social Security (CHEERS).
She is a serving Director on the Board of Precious Healthcare Limited, an Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) accredited by the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). She has been on the Board since 2007 to date.
Ajia Ogugua, out of her love for God recently founded the Over T You Lord women prayer group ministry where women gather to hand over their burdens to God in prayer and be assured that they get their testimonies.
